What Is A Direct Ophthalmoscope?
Direct ophthalmoscopes are basic devices for eye examination. They examine the refractive medium (cornea, aqueous humor, lens, and vitreous body) and fundus (optic disc, retina, and choroid) of the eye. Direct ophthalmoscope examination is a primary method in ophthalmology. The examination is performed in a dark room. Generally, pupil dilation is not necessary.
5 Options of Direct Ophthalmoscope
LED Direct Ophthalmoscope
66 Vision direct ophthalmoscopes apply LED illumination for durable use and long-lasting working life. The ultraviolet radiation barrier is built in the direct ophthalmoscopes to protect patients’ eyes. Soft brow rest design effectively protects the operator’s eye.

Rechargeable Direct Ophthalmoscope
66 Vision produces rechargeable direct ophthalmoscopes to meet the versatile needs of hospitals and clinics, especially ward use. They are small and light to carry in the pocket for eye care specialists. The newly added LED light source version of 66 Vision rechargeable direct ophthalmoscopes increases lighting brightness and extends service life, making it your ideal choice.

Multi Capabilities of 66 Vision Ophthalmoscopes
Functional apertures and filters on our direct ophthalmoscope
- Small aperture: used to observe and examine fundus capillary micro bleeding, nerve fiber edema, etc.
- Large aperture: used to check the fundus for media turbidity
- Slit: used to accurately observe subtle changes in the fundus and measure the height difference of lesions
- Red-free filter: to absorb red light and allow wavelengths from yellow to blue to pass through, which helps observe blood vessels and bleed in the retina;
- Grid: to measure the location and size of foreign bodies in the eye and the range of the lesion

Benefits of 66 Vision Direct Ophthalmoscope
66 Vision has direct ophthalmoscopes for both recharging and plug-in types. You can also choose different direct ophthalmoscopes with halogen or LED light sources. A simple configuration can meet more user needs, making it convenient and affordable.
Wire cables support the plug-in direct ophthalmoscopes with LED light source
The rechargeable direct ophthalmoscopes with LED illumination are wireless, making them convenient for moving from room to room.
Direct ophthalmoscopes can directly check the fundus without pupil dilation. The examination shall be in the dark room. The examiner’s eyes must be close to the patient’s eyes. Use the right eye to check the patient’s right eye, hold the ophthalmoscope with the right hand, sit or stand on the right side of the patient, and the left eye will reverse. The doctor’s other hand will hold the patient’s eyelid. First, place the ophthalmoscope about 20cm in front of the patient’s eyes, and use the +10D lens to check whether the patient’s refractive interstitial is transparent. After checking the refractive interstitial, you can start to check each part of the fundus.
66 Vision offers one-year warranty for the direct ophthalmoscope.
